Mountain View hosts annual Multicultural Festival

The city of Mountain View hosted its annual Multicultural Festival on Saturday, March 15, drawing a crowd of roughly 2,000 people to the plaza outside City Hall, according to a city estimate.

The yearly celebration of Mountain View’s cultural diversity featured various performances, exhibits and booths from local community groups.

The groups who performed included Bayer Ballet, Katuri Korean Dance Company, California Youth Chinese Symphony and The Flamenco Society of San Jose. A mariachi band also played between the acts.

Saturday’s event had roughly double the number of cultural booths, compared to previous years, city spokesperson Lenka Wright said. The city also showcased cultural artifacts and replicas inside City Hall, which were contributed by community members.

The maximum grant awards range from $1,333 to $3,333, depending on the number of households covered by a given neighborhood group.
