A Mountain View pedestrian killed in a vehicle collision last week has been identified by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
Yee Leong, a 73-year-old Mountain View resident, died from “blunt force injury due to a pedestrian automobile collision,” according to the coroner’s office.
The collision occurred at the intersection of El Camino Real and Escuela Avenue early in the morning on April 9, according to a statement from the Mountain View Police Department.
Police said at the time that neither alcohol nor drugs appeared to be a factor in the collision and that the driver remained on the scene and was cooperating with the investigation.
The collision marks the second known pedestrian vehicle fatality in Mountain View this year. In January, police arrested a Campbell man for allegedly killing a pedestrian in a hit and run incident at the corner of Amphitheatre Parkway and Joaquin Road.
