Teen poetry workshop comes to Mountain View library

Mountain View teen Sierra Elman is hosting a poetry workshop at the Mountain View library this weekend. Elman aims to use pop music to engage tweens and teens with poetry.

Entitled “The Tortured Poets Workshop: The Poetry of Pop Music,” the hourlong workshop will give attendees the chance to explore poetry in pop songs, write their own poems and share them with their peers, according to Elman.

Elman, who lives in Mountain View, was named the 2024-25 Burlingame-Hillsborough Youth Poet Laureate.

The event is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, in the library’s second floor program room, 585 Franklin St. For more information, visit the library’s website.
