With mere minutes to go before Halloween, you probably have your costume and party plans all squared away. But if you happen to be blowing up the group chat or asking Reddit what everyone’s plans are in the hopes of figuring out your own, look no further than our Halloween events guide for last-minute ideas. We’ve updated it as more local events have been announced, and with the sheer volume of things happening there’s a good chance you’ll find a party, costume contest or family-friendly event closeby.
And not only is it Halloween weekend, but Día de los Muertos festivities are also happening around the Peninsula Nov. 1-2. That kicks off a month of festivals, markets, concerts and early holiday events. Find your guide to November events below.
The start of November also means that 168,000 residents of San Mateo and Santa Clara counties who rely on federal food aid may not receive any assistance for the month amid the federal government shutdown. If you know someone who needs help or you want to help, please read my colleague Emma Montalbano’s story for a running list of resources.
