Neysa Filgor and Rishi Kumar are squaring off Tuesday in a special election for Santa Clara County assesor.

A special run-off election will take place in Santa Clara County on Tuesday as voters decide who will be the next County Assessor.

Candidates Neysa Fligor, Los Altos vice mayor and current assistant assessor, and Rishi Kumar, Saratoga City Councilmember and tech executive, are on the ballot, neither of which garnered more than 50% of the vote in the Nov. 5 election, triggering a run-off.

The winner will replace Larry Stone, who stepped down in July and served as Santa Clara County assessor for 30 years.

Fligor received the most votes on Nov. 4, with 37.67% of the vote. Kumar received 24.01%.

Voters can cast their ballot in person at a polling place on Tuesday, or by mail, by dropping the ballot off at a vote center, or at any of the county’s official drop boxes. To find the nearest drop box, go to sccvote.org.
