Long-running electronic music outfit Thievery Corporation is proud of its eclectic sounds, genre-defying style and influences from around the world, according to the artist’s website. While the band’s Dec. 27 concert at the Guild is sold out, as of press time tickets were still available for its second performance the following night. Opening the shows is Bay Area combo Halou, founded by Ryan and Rebecca Coseboom. Halou is another long-running project, combining intimate songwriting with dream-pop and electronic sounds.

Terrie Odabi
Vocalist Terrie Odabi returns to Meyhouse Jazz, along with Simon Russell on keys, Kirk Crumpler on bass and Pierre Parker on drums, to perform her mix of soul, funk and blues. “With a voice that channels the power of Aretha, the honesty of Etta, and the fire of contemporary soul queens, Odabi creates a concert experience that’s both deeply personal and universally moving,” Meyhouse’s website states.

Astronaut Rex Walheim 
Former NASA astronaut Rex Walheim, who was born in Redwood City and grew up in San Carlos, will give a presentation about his experiences on three Space Shuttle missions, including the final voyage, hosted by Hiller Aviation Museum. Walheim spent 36 days in space and completed five spacewalks, helping build and outfit the International Space Station, according to the event listing.
