Following a primary election that was so close it triggered a recount, San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo and Assemblymember Evan Low — who eked out a victory over Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian — advanced to this fall’s general election for the chance to represent Silicon Valley in Congress.

At a recent forum, the candidates looked to make their case to north district voters in Palo Alto, sparring over their policy differences in an effort to expand on their platforms ahead of the November vote.
