Update: By 2:18 p.m. power was restored in Mountain View, according to a police department post on X.

Some 3,373 PG&E customers are without electricity in Mountain View Saturday afternoon. Residents and businesses lost power at 9:19 a.m., according to the utility company’s outage map. It’s unclear what caused the outage.

The Mountain View Police note on X account that “outages affecting traffic signals around Shoreline Boulevard, Central Expressway, E. Middlefield Road, Whisman Station and the downtown Mountain View area.”

PG&E crews are evaluating the electrical system to identify damaged sections and make necessary repairs in order to safely turn the power back on, according to PG&E’s website.

PG&E estimates power should be restored around 3 p.m.

The Voice has reached out to PG&E asking for more information on what might have caused the outage.
