Super PAC pays for Silicon Valley congressional recount
A new political action committee was formed to pay for a recount of the contentious Congressional District 16 race, further obscuring who is actually funding the effort. The committee won’t have to publicize its donors or expenses until July 15, which is the Federal Election Commission’s mandatory quarterly filing date for PACs.

Former Stanford player succeeds Tara VanDerveer as Stanford women’s head basketball coach
Stanford officially named Kate Paye as the Setsuko Ishiyama Director of Women’s Basketball, or coach, on April 17. Paye, a former Stanford women’s basketball player and former assistant coach, succeeds Tara VanDerveer who has coached the team since 1985 and set an NCAA record for wins.
