A Menlo Park Tesla Supercharger at 325 Sharon Park Drive was vandalized on March 26, 2025. Someone poured super glue on and in the cable handle, rendering it inoperable, according to Menlo Park Police spokesperson Nicole Acker.

Menlo Park Police have no leads or information and there were no witnesses, Acker said. As of April 2, 2025, the Tesla Supercharger map shows all chargers at Sharon Park Drive as operational.

The vandalism comes after protests at Tesla dealerships around the peninsula. Some local residents have expressed opposition to Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s work at the federal Department of Government Efficiency. No evidence has been released to suggest that the Menlo Park incident is related to those protests.

Nationwide, there have been increased incidents of vandalism to Tesla facilities and Tesla vehicles. In Florida, a woman was charged with a felony for causing $2,600 of damage to a Tesla by sticking a wad of chewing gum in the door mechanics.

“The swarm of violent attacks on Tesla property is nothing short of domestic terrorism,” U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a statement

Tesla Superchargers reportedly cost $40,000-$45,000 per stall.
