On Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks will play the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl at Levi’s Stadium, just a 15 minute drive from Mountain View.

With the big game happening so close to home, the city of Mountain View is hoping to draw fans to restaurants and other businesses in town.

Back in December, the City Council allocated $295,000 towards planning events for both the Super Bowl and World Cup, which will be held at Levi’s Stadium later in the year. The council also gave a $30,000 grant to the Mountain View Chamber of Commerce to help local businesses promote their own events.

The city’s main attraction will be a tailgate party downtown on Saturday, Feb. 7, but it has also coordinated with local businesses that are hosting watch parties and offering promotions.
