Exploring Kings Mountain: Redwood forests, ocean vistas – and glamping

This week, we’re highlighting Kings Mountain, an unincorporated community that stretches along Skyline Boulevard in the Santa Cruz Mountains about 5 miles above Woodside. Known for its redwood forests, fern-lined canyons, ocean vistas and distinctive geology, the area stands apart from much of the Peninsula. Once a logging town and later a summer retreat, Kings Mountain has evolved into a full-time residential community, blending modest cabins from its early years with multimillion-dollar homes on largely secluded properties.
