Senior programs to be relocated
About 30 seniors gathered at the temporary senior center
Tuesday to listen as the city revealed details of its plan to move
into the new $15 million center scheduled to open next door in
October.
The temporary center will close in August to make way for the final phase of construction of the new center. As a result, classes and
other regular programs will move to the community center on the other side of Rengstorff Park. Drop-in activities, including the game room and the video library, will be suspended for two months.
The new building will feature lots of natural light, two multi-purpose rooms and a large social hall, among other amenities.
