From wreath making to creating Victorian-era ornaments, there are a variety of holiday crafting classes being offered along the Peninsula in November and December that will help you zhuzh up your home while socializing.
We compiled a list of workshops in different price ranges and locales. Workshop space is limited, so early registration is recommended.

Luludi Living Art succulent wreath workshop, San Mateo
Build a wreath using real succulent cuttings, moss and decorative accents with help from an instructor.

Art Space on the Coast holiday-themed ceramics workshops, Pacifica
Children can make mugs, tumblers, clay ornaments and other holiday gifts on the Coastside.

Filoli centerpiece and holiday wreath workshops, Woodside
Filoli instructors will teach participants how to make a Thanksgiving centerpiece using seasonal materials sourced from Filoli’s estate and local vendors. There will also be workshops on how to make wreaths by weaving together greens and dried embellishments.

Brisbane Library Maker Mondays
Kids and teens can learn how to use the library’s Glowforge laser cutter to make magnets using their own turkey drawings Nov. 24, then return to make ornaments using a variety of craft supplies Dec. 15. Both events are first come, first served; no registration required. Workshops are suitable for ages 6-18.

Select a pre-cut wooden design to paint, embellish and complete with resin. The studio also offers other holiday crafting classes.

Foster City Library holiday card making, Foster City
Handwrite cards, letters and other notes using premium paper, cards, pens, washi tape, stickers and postage from San Mateo County Libraries. All ages and skill levels are welcome.

Little Green A Plant Bar workshops, Redwood City
While the shop’s succulent wreath-making workshops are sold out, holiday classes with available spots include a Succulent Stars and Sip session with a tasting flight of Flying Suitcase Wines and a candle-making and honey-tasting workshop with State Street Honey.

Forever Bloom Farm holiday wreath workshop, Pescadero
Tour a flower farm on the coast, then make a wreath out of “traditional and unusual” foliage, seeds and dried flowers. Event organizers will provide farm-crafted snacks and homemade strawberry lemonade.

San Mateo Arboretum Society’s holiday wreath workshop, online
Create a wreath using a variety of fresh greens from San Mateo’s Central Park. The in-person event is sold out, but online registration is still open. Zoom participants will be emailed dates and times when supplies (including a frame, ribbon, wire and embellishments) can be picked up at the San Mateo Arboretum Society.

Evergreen wreath making at Gamble Garden, Palo Alto
Learn how to make an evergreen wreath for your front door or as a centerpiece for your holiday table under the guidance of a floral designer. Organizers will provide festive embellishments like pine cones and ribbons. Bring your own pair of floral clippers for cutting branches.

Laurel Street Arts holiday pizza and paint night, San Carlos
Participants will paint a gingerbread house on a canvas and eat Mountain Mike’s Pizza in downtown San Carlos. The event is open to first graders and older.

South San Francisco Library’s wreath workshop
An instructor will lead classgoers through making a wreath with a wreath ring, florist wire, fresh greens, berries, cones and ribbon. Bring your own work gloves and pruners. There will also be hot spiced cider and holiday music.
The event is a fundraiser for the city’s Improving Public Places group. The library is also selling take-home wreath kits.

San Mateo County History Museum’s ‘Tree Treasures,’ Redwood City
Children can craft Victorian-era ornaments. The activity harks back to when people made their own ornaments for their Christmas trees. They hung fancy cakes, gingerbreads and cornucopias filled with sweets and nuts on their trees, according to the museum’s website. The program is being held in conjunction with Redwood City’s Hometown Holidays event.

Millbrae Library’s holiday stockings workshop
Those 10 and older can learn to sew holiday stockings. The class is open to all skill levels.
