If you’re looking for ways to be creative socially, there are plenty of one-time painting classes as well as multiday workshops on the Peninsula. Whether you’re looking to paint and sip for a night out with friends or enroll in a class to brush up on your painting skills, these organizations, businesses and teachers will suit every palette.

Painting & Vino’s paint and sip events are held throughout the Peninsula.
Learn to paint Easter flowers at Pinstripes in San Mateo during an April 4 workshop or celebrate the return of baseball season at a baseball-themed paint night at Out of the Barrel Taproom in San Carlos April 16.
All painting materials are included in the cost, and drinks are available for purchase.

Pacific Art League, Palo Alto
Pacific Art League in downtown Palo Alto offers a variety of painting workshops, including a six-session landscape oil painting course starting March 25, a six-hour watercolor workshop April 19 and more.

Wine & Design, Los Altos
Wine & Design in Los Altos has plenty of upcoming two-hour paint nights, including a two-person Mommy and Me workshop March 28 and a hydrangea and butterfly paint night March 31.
The studio sells appetizers, wine, beer and other beverages on-site. Attendees can also prepurchase meat and cheese platters.

Pinot’s Palette, San Bruno
Pinot’s Palette hosts paint classes Wednesday through Sunday in its downtown San Bruno studio. Most of the featured paintings that students recreate are nature-themed.
Some classes include a $20 upcharge for bottomless mimosas. Snacks are available for purchase. Upcoming classes include a beach-themed one March 29 and an Easter-themed workshop April 4.

Bay Area Classical Artist Atelier, San Carlos
Bay Area Classical Artist Atelier offers multiday workshops taught by master artists and instructors.
There are two upcoming workshops: one March 26-29 on floral painting and one plein air painting course April 10-12 in Half Moon Bay. Spaces are limited.

Netra Studio, Foster City
Netra Studio in Foster City hosts two-hour drawing and painting classes Friday through Monday, including courses for kids.

Create Mix & Mingle, San Mateo
Create Mix & Mingle hosts paint nights on Sundays from 7-9 p.m. All ages are welcome, and soft drinks are available for purchase.

Sunnyvale Community Center, Sunnyvale
The city of Sunnyvale hosts free watercolor painting classes on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. for individuals with disabilities 8 and older in its Creative Arts Center. The next class is March 26.

Emerald Art Studio, Campbell
Emerald Art Studio in Campbell hosts two-hour painting date nights on Fridays and Saturdays. Attendees create two coordinated paintings or one joint masterpiece. Events include music and refreshments.

The Community School of Music and Arts hosts a variety of one-day art workshops, including an upcoming three-hour cherry blossom watercolor course in April.

Madrone Arts, Pescadero
Madrone Arts hosts a variety of painting workshops, including a free series of classes specifically designed for adult residents of Pescadero, La Honda, San Gregorio and Loma Mar on the third Friday of each month from 5:30-8 p.m.
The next class is March 20. Madrone will also host a six-hour painting workshop with artist Susan Friedman March 21 ($295). Canvas, paints, brushes and aprons will be provided for all participants.

Art School of San Francisco Bay, Mountain View
The Art School of San Francisco Bay will host a two-hour, beginner-friendly landscape painting workshop for adults April 16 and June 5. The instructor, artist Masha Ashikhmina, will teach students about color mixing, brushwork, effective composition, representing textures of nature and working with a photo reference.
The art school also offers classes for adults and children 4 and up, plus art camps.

Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society, Saratoga
Painter Guy Magallanes will demonstrate how to to paint a landscape using watercolor and ink to create a vibrant painting. A native San Franciscan, Magallanes is a self-taught painter who has been painting since childhood and teaching since 2005.
