Once again this Easter, children will sprint around in search of pastel-colored eggs while adults spend the days leading up to the holiday hunting for brunch reservations or to-go options.

With Easter falling earlier on the calendar this year, families may be surprised to learn that some egg hunts are already filled to capacity, including ones at Gamble Garden and Rosewood Sand Hill. Depending on the occasion, preregistration or reservations may be required, so don’t delay – get your Easter plans in place with The Six Fifty’s guide below.

Hillsdale Shopping Center Easter Events Take pictures with the Easter Bunny at the mall March 26-29 and April 1-4. The mall is also hosting a petting zoo March 27 and an Easter egg cookie decorating workshop with Mrs. Fields April 1 for the first 100 children.

Stanford Shopping Center Easter Bunny Photos The Easter Bunny will be posing for pictures through April 4. Booking early is encouraged, but walk-ups are also accepted daily until closing time.

Easter at Serramonte Center Families can meet the Easter Bunny and take photos together March 27-April 4. At a Bunny Hop Scavenger Hunt March 28, participants can pick up a map and Easter basket and search for hidden bunnies at participating merchants. Return the completed map for a prize and a chance to win other prizes, including a $100 gift card. Easter baskets available while supplies last.

Spring Egg Hunt, San Bruno The San Bruno Lions club kicks off the day at San Bruno City Park with a pancake breakfast, followed by staggered egg hunts by age group for kids 10 and under. An accessible egg hunt for all ages, designed for participants who benefit from a paved surface and a smaller crowd, will wrap up the egg hunts.

Attendees can also snap pictures at the bunny photo station, enjoy activities and meet members of the city’s police and fire departments.

Lemos Farm Egg Hunts, Half Moon Bay The popular family destination off Highway 92 is hosting numerous large Easter egg hunts weekends through April 5. Egg hunts are included in the price of admission, and tickets also include unlimited access to pony rides, a petting zoo, train and hay rides, bounce houses and more kids’ activities. Children should bring their own baskets for eggs.

Epic Eggventure, Pacifica The city of Pacifica is organizing Easter egg hunts on separate weekends. Registration is required for the April 4 event; children should bring their own baskets.

Belmont Egg Hunts The city hosts two separate egg hunts. An adaptive egg hunt is April 3 for individuals with disabilities as well as those who would benefit from a sensory-friendly environment and features 2,000 eggs and two golden eggs. The event includes photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny.

On April 4, 18,000 eggs and four golden eggs will be hidden for kids ages 3-10, with designated areas in the park for each age division. Families can stick around for kids’ activities, photos with the Easter Bunny and refreshments and learn about summer camp offerings.

Manresa, multiple locations The local bakery chain has just released its Easter menu, which includes chocolate babka, coconut raspberry layer cake, passion fruit tartlette, a toasted meringue passion fruit tart and a brioche loaf.

Eggstravaganza, San Mateo Wristband reservations for the egg hunts at Central Park have already run out, but a limited number of wristbands will be available for children the day of the event. The event also includes a costume contest (sign up by March 27), photos with the Spring Bunny, food vendors and performances by PAL Ballet Folklorico and Puppet Art Theater Co.

Campbell Eggstravaganza, Bunnies and Bonnets Easter Parade The 46th annual Campbell Eggstravaganza Easter Egg Hunt kicks off the day for kids 1-12 with thousands of eggs sprinkled throughout the Campbell Community Center soccer field. The event also includes jump houses, a petting zoo, baton dancers, pictures with the Easter Bunny and face painting. At noon, the annual Easter parade starts in downtown with dancers, marching bands, animals and local organizations.

Menlo Park Egg Hunts Besides egg hunts divided into age groups (including sensory-friendly, all-ages egg hunts), this festival includes a petting zoo, photos with the Easter Bunny, children’s crafts and a Menlo Park Fire Fun Zone. 

Advance registration is required for the egg hunts, and slots for children 4 and under are already full. Participants should bring their own baskets for eggs.

April 4, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Burgess Park, 701 Laurel St., Menlo Park. (Sensory-friendly egg hunts are at Arrillaga Family Recreation Center.) Foster City Egg Hunt All spaces have been filled for children 6 and under, but kids 7-11 can still be signed up for the April 4 festivities. Participants can enjoy crafts, prizes, refreshments and a photo with a special guest. All proceeds benefit the Youth & Teen Foundation.
