Event: CONTACT Conference at NASA Ames
Come join an interdisciplinary gathering of scientists, artists and writers as they explore human futures in fact and fiction at the annual CONTACT Conference. Among the speakers are three NASA Ames Research Center scientists: Bill Clancey, chief scientist for Human-Centered Computing in the Intelligent Systems Division; Michael Sims, senior researcher in the Intelligent Systems Division; and Carol Stoker, a scientist in the Space Sciences Division and a lead scientist on NASA’s Phoenix mission. The event lasts from Friday, April 3 to Sunday, April 5 at the NASA Ames Research Center, Building 943 (located at the main gate), Moffett Field. Music: Dubious Ranger at Red Rock
Progressive/acid/punk rock band Dubious Ranger will perform tonight, April 3, starting at 8 p.m. at Red Rock, located at 201 Castro St, Mountain View.
Theater: “Distracted” at Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts
TheatreWorks presents “ Distracted,” a comedy about plugged-in kids, anxious parents, neurotic neighbors and a drug- and technology-addled society. Preview performance is tonight, April 3 at 8 p.m. at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts’ MainStage, 500 Castro St. Upcoming show times are Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 2 and/or 8 p.m., Sundays at 2 and/or 7 p.m., through April 26.
