District Attorney to weigh charges against drivers in fatal Embarcadero crash

The Palo Alto Police Department has referred to the Santa Clara County District Attorney the results of its investigation into the Feb. 19 fatal crash in which two drivers struck a bicyclist on Embarcadero Road, the department said in a news release.

California’s fishing industry is bracing for another bad year as federal managers today announced plans to heavily restrict or prohibit salmon fishing this year, following a complete ban last year.

CA primary turnout not record low, but vote count still slow

The latest official tally from the Secretary of State’s office shows that 4.8 million ballots have been counted from California’s primary, with 2.5 million still to go. Based on the late Friday numbers, the total of nearly 7.3 million votes means a turnout of about 33%, well below the norm for presidential primaries, but not the record low that some analysts projected based on early numbers.
