Theater: “Tell It Slant” at the Pear Avenue Theatre
The Pear Avenue Theatre kicks off its eighth season with the world premiere of a riveting new drama with music, “Tell It Slant,” the fictionalized account of Emily Dickinson in her formative years as the young poet finds her voice. This original play blends musical compositions and improvised scenes with Dickinson’s incomparable verse, bringing to life the story of one of America’s most important poets. Through Sept. 27, with 8 p.m. performances Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and 2 p.m. performances Saturdays and Sundays (except on Sept. 12).
