Construction work is scheduled to close two southbound lanes on El Camino Real in Mountain View for 24 hours beginning Friday evening.

The closure will impact the portion of El Camino Real crossing over State Route 85, near the Sunnyvale border. Starting at 8 p.m. on Jan. 23, Caltrans plans to close the lanes to perform repair work to bridge deck panels, according to a press release. Construction is expected to be complete by Saturday evening although the schedule could change depending on weather conditions, the release said.

During construction, Caltrans plans to use “changeable message signs and directional signs” to assist drivers. Caltrans also recommends that drivers allow for extra time to reach their destination and to expect delays. There will be some construction noise associated with the repair work, the release said.
