Theater: PYT presents “The Music Man”
Peninsula Youth Theatre takes the MainStage at MVCPA in this classic tale. They’ve got Trouble (with a capital T) in River City when a fast-talking traveling salesman cons the well-meaning residents into buying expensive band equipment for their children. Show begins March 7 and runs through March 15: Thursday at 9:30 a.m., Friday at 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 and 7:30 p.m., Sunday , March 8 at 1 and 6:30 p.m., Sunday, March 15 at 1 p.m. At the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts MainStage, downtown Mountain View, $18 adults; $16 seniors/children 12 and under, 9:30 a.m. performances $7. Fund raiser: Nemaline Myopathy Day
Peninsula nonprofit Building Strength is gearing up for its second annual fund raiser on March 7 and 8. Local athletes will hit gyms, trails and bike paths in a two-day fitness event to fight nemaline myopathy, a rare neuromuscular disorder. For more, visit www.buildingstrength.org.
The campy musical “Bat Boy,” the tragic tabloid story of a half-boy, half-bat, plays at the Lohman Theatre at Foothill College, 12345 El Monte Road in Los Altos Hills. The score is a blend of Broadway, gospel, rock and country music.
