Talk: “Space and Media,” part of the Space Panel Series at NASA Ames

The public is invited to join students of the International Space University for a series of “Space Panels” in July and August. On Tuesday, July 7, expert science reporters including Leonard David, David Perlman and Miles O’Brien will address how space is reported in the news and treated by the entertainment industry. Moderated by David Livingston, host of “The Space Show.” All panel discussions are from 8 to 9:30 p.m., followed by a reception from 9:30 to 10 p.m. Located in Building 943, Eagle Room at NASA Research Park, Moffett Field.

Art: “Grandchildren on Vacation” at CSMA

The Community School of Music and Arts at Finn Center presents “Grandchildren on Vacation,” an exhibit of batiks by Mathangi Sundararajan in the Mohr Gallery vestibule. Sundararajan been creating and teaching batik and tie dye for almost 40 years. Open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., through Aug. 13. Free.
