Community Event: Thursday Night Live on Castro Street
Castro Street will be closed to car traffic from Evelyn Avenue to Mercy Street to make way for Thursday Night Live, featuring dining, shopping, kids’ activities, a farmers market, a car show and live music by the Joe Sharino Band. Thursday, July 9 from 5 to 9 p.m. The live music (part of the city’s 2009 Summer Concert Series) is 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Dana and Castro streets. The other Thursday Night Live events are July 23, Aug. 6 and Aug. 20.
Theater: “Metamorphoses” at The Pear
The Pear Avenue Theatre presents this update of Ovid’s classic tales of gods and mortals, chock full of life, death and the redemptive power of love.
