Benefit: Friends of Mountain View Library book sale
A benefit book sale by the Friends of the Mountain View Library is set for this weekend, on Saturday, Feb. 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 13, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bookmobile Garage, 585 Franklin St., Mountain View.
Dance: Ballet Afsaneh at Stanford
Folkloric and classical dances of Central Asia are the focus on Saturday, Feb. 12, when the Marin-based Ballet Afsaneh performs with Tibetan, Mongolian and Japanese soloists. The 8 p.m. performance is in Stanford University’s Dinkelspiel Auditorium.
Music: ‘Songs from the Kitchen’
On Sunday, Feb. 13, at 7:30 p.m., the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center hosts a concert-slash-tasting of Yiddish and English songs, and dishes from the Jewish cooking tradition. Klezmer musicians will perform at the event at 3921 Fabian Way, Palo Alto.
