Sculptor and media artist Nayland Blake, who describes himself as artist and “instigator,” will give a free talk today (April 18) at 5:15 p.m., looking back over the last 30 years of his career. His work is included in the collections of such institutions as the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the de Young Museum. The event is in the Cummings Art Building, AR2, Stanford University. Short-story writer Lydia Davis, whose collection “Varieties of Disturbance” was a finalist for the 2007 National Book Award, will give a free talk tonight (April 18) at 8 p.m. in Levinthal Hall at the Stanford Humanities Center on campus.
