A new exhibition of sculptures by Pola Harrel and paintings by Gertie Mellon opens today, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m. at Gallery House, 320 California Ave., Palo Alto, and runs through Nov. 13. Harrel’s work is influenced by the pre-Columbian art of Peru, while Mellon says her canvases often reflect “the encroachment of city into the landscape.”
