Palo Alto’s monthly free live music event closes out 2024 with four bands playing along California Avenue, plus arts and crafts activities, a photo booth and giveaways.

The theme for the December edition of 3rdThursday is “Holiday Cheer,” and features Hootenanny playing acoustic rock and pop covers; guitarist Rick Sanders; Rasquache Liberation Front performing a mix of original psychedelic cumbias, jarocho blues, lowrider folk and cuentos; and soprano ensemble Bella Sorella.

Some area restaurants and merchants offer extended hours and specials during the event. 

Dec. 19, 6-9 p.m. along California Avenue, Palo Alto. 3rdthursday.fun.
