The Rengstorff House August Arts Festival once again celebrates the artistic legacy of Mountain View’s pioneering Rengstorff family, featuring live performances and the works of local artists throughout the month. All events are free and open to the public, with a suggested donation of $10.
The fine arts show will run Aug. 1-31 and will be open to the public on Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The show includes watercolors by Jackie Krantz, Patricia Nojima, Victor Burkman and Tom Raffin; oils by Robert Schick; sculpture by Margarita Soyfertis and Gina Holmberg; photography by Walt Rau; and the eclectic works of Jacqueline Ernst.
Watercolors by students from the Community School of Music and Arts’ “Arts in Action” program will also be showcased. A reception for the artists will be held on Thursday, Aug. 2, 5-7 p.m. inside the Rengstorff House.
On Sunday afternoons, free performances will be presented in the gardens of Rengstorff House, which is located next to the golf course at Shoreline in Mountain View. Those start Aug. 5 with Woman’s Will, the all-female Berkley-based Shakespeare troupe, returning with their production of “Romeo and Juliet.”
On Aug. 12, the gardens will play host to the classical flute and guitar music of Brian Bensin and Adam Roszkiewicz. Aug. 19 will feature Wendy Waller and Her Fine Band playing New Orleans jazz. The series will conclude on Aug. 26 with the CSMA Faculty Brass Quintet presenting its musical journey, “Mahler to Waller.”
