CSMA names new executive director

Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) recently announced that Adriana Marcial will be its new executive director, starting at the end of February.

Marcial will replace Vickie Scott Grove, who has led the Mountain View-based nonprofit since 2013 and announced that she was stepping down in September 2023, according to a press release.

CSMA offers music and arts education, with a focus on making its offerings accessible, regardless of someone’s income or ability. Its work includes partnerships with local school districts to offer in-class arts and music lessons for elementary and middle school students.

Marcial comes to CSMA from the San Francisco Girls Chorus, where she is the executive director and was previously the deputy director, according to the release.

“As an experienced leader from the Bay Area arts community, (Marcial) brings both the passion and experience needed to lead CSMA during the coming years,” CSMA board Chair Sohi Sohn said in the press release. “We are deeply grateful for Vickie Scott Grove’s 10+ years of dedicated service and wish her nothing but the best in her next endeavors.”
