The Mountain View Whisman School District recently announced staffing changes at Graham Middle School and Castro Elementary School, as well as new hires for district-level administrators.

Sebastian Benavidez III will take over as principal at Graham in the fall, replacing Heidi Galassi, who is leaving at the end of the school year, according to a personnel report that the school board approved last week.

Benavidez comes to the district from Palo Alto, where he has served as the principal at Greene Middle School. He previously worked for 15 years in the Fresno Unified School District, according to a Mountain View Whisman press release.

Galassi has been Graham’s principal for three years and was previously principal at Landels Elementary School. Before Galassi took over at Graham, the school had seen three principals depart within a three year span.

Changes at the district office

On the district level, Karin Jinbo will be switching roles, going from the director of student support services and special education to the director of health and wellness.
