Local residents who died recently include:
Jane Hall, 86, a Redwood City resident who had a passion for tennis, golf, gardening, and travel, with Africa holding a special place in her heart as a favorite destination. She died on Dec. 1.
Lawrence Cottrell Allen, Jr (Poppi), 93, a resident of Portola Valley whose Palo Alto printing store always placed first in their franchise and who was the first military pilot to fly the C-5A, the largest cargo transport airplane, and taught the first class of C5 AF pilots at Altus AFB.
Rosemary Virginia Wardell, 84, of Palo Alto who built many successful businesses using her creative talents especially in the area of design and continued sharing her creative gifts until the end.
