The annual Mountain View Voice Holiday Fund campaign to support local nonprofits that provide critical help to those in need is kicking off this week, with the aim of raising $100,000 from local donors — every cent of which will be distributed to community nonprofits serving Mountain View residents.
All administrative and marketing expenses are donated by the Voice and Embarcadero Media Foundation, the nonprofit that publishes the Voice and its sister publications and websites.
Six nonprofit organizations serving needy families in Mountain View will share equally in the funds raised. Matching funds provided by the Packard and Hewlett foundations will add to what local individuals, businesses and other organizations give during the campaign, which runs until mid-January.
All donations are tax deductible and donors may donate in their name, in memory of a friend or relative, or anonymously. Donor-advised charitable donations, stock or IRA distributions are also accepted.
Donations can be made online at embarcaderomedia.org/holiday-fund or by sending a check to Voice Holiday Fund, Embarcadero Media Foundation, 2345 Yale St., Palo Alto CA 94306.
All donors will be published on the Voice’s website unless otherwise requested.
This year’s six recipient nonprofit organizations are Community Services Agency, Community School of Music & Arts, Day Worker Center of Mountain View, Hope’s Corner, Mayview Mountain View Clinic and Mentor Tutor Connection.
