A vehicle collided into the front window of the Dollar Tree in Mountain View on Saturday, resulting in damage to the entrance that has closed the store for several days until the window can be replaced.
The collision was reported around 6:30 p.m. on April 27 at the Dollar Tree located at 199 E. Middlefield Road, according to the Mountain View Police Department.
The vehicle jumped the sidewalk and crashed into the store’s large entrance window. The impact shattered the front glass but nobody inside the store was injured, according to Linda Jekel, a frequent Dollar Tree customer.
Shortly afterwards, police arrived at the Dollar Tree. They spoke with the driver, but he did not show indication of impairment and no report was taken, according to a police spokesperson.
The Dollar Tree has been closed to the public since the collision and plans to reopen once the window is replaced, the store manager said. No specific timeline was given for the window replacement.
