Officials at Foothill College are warning students, walkers and joggers who frequent the trail system that surrounds the campus to be on the lookout for a mountain lion that may be in the area, college spokeswoman Lori Thomas said Wednesday.
The mountain lion was spotted Tuesday in a creek bed near the campus, Thomas said. The California Department of Fish and Game notified the college of the sighting.
The 122-acre campus is surrounded by wooded terrain and sits in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains.
