The public is invited to celebrate the holiday season with friends, family and neighbors next week during the Mountain View Community Tree Lighting Ceremony. The event will take place at the Civic Center Plaza on Monday, Dec. 8, beginning at 6 p.m.
The event, a yearly favorite, will feature refreshments, family activities and a live appearance by Santa Claus. Local Mountain View groups will perform live holiday music, and children will have the opportunity to have their pictures taken with Santa.
The city of Mountain View encourages the public to bring a can of food to the event to help build a “giving tree,” which benefits Community Services Agency. CSA, based in Mountain View, provides assistance to thousands of local residents in need.
The ceremony will take place from 6 to 8 p.m., rain or shine, in the Civic Center Plaza, located next to City Hall at 500 Castro Street.
