Los Altos Women’s Caucus and El Camino Hospital are teaming up to host a panel of local women innovators in healthcare on Wednesday, May 20, at the hospital. Panelists include Surbhi Sarna, Piya Sorcar, Dr. Erica Weirich, and El Camino CEO Tomi Ryba.
The panel participants will share information and experiences about their field of work and insight on their careers.
According to a press release, Sarna is the CEO and founder of NVision Medical, an early stage medical device company with a focus on female health innovation. Sorcar is the CEO and founder of TeachAIDS. Sorcar leads a group of world experts in medicine, public health and education in developing software focusing on HIV prevention. She also has a doctoral degree in learning science and technology design and teaches at Stanford University.
Dr. Weirich is the co-founder and director of the Global Health Research Foundation which utilizes technology to empower health care workers and environmentals in low resource areas around the world. She also works as a family physician at Palo Alto Medical Foundation and Adjunct Clinical Professor of Medicine at Stanford University. Ryba, the president and CEO of El Camino Hospital, has a background in management of public, academic, and community hospitals.
