Santa Clara County Superior Court on Monday, March 8, reopened clerk’s offices for in-person business at three courthouses following the county’s move last week to the red tier of the state’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy reopening guidelines.
The clerk’s offices reopened at the Hall of Justice, Downtown Superior Courthouse and the Family Justice Center Courthouse, while the Morgan Hill and Palo Alto courthouses remain closed, court officials said.
Social distancing protocols remain in effect and only those with specific business, such as being a party in a hearing, will be allowed to enter the courthouses.
Clerk’s office and telephone hours will run 8:30 a.m. through 1:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Fridays.
“As the third branch of government, our judicial officers and court staff have worked diligently to uphold our constitutional duties throughout the pandemic,” Presiding Judge Theodore Zayner said in a news release. “Our court is committed to providing a healthy and safe environment for judicial officers, court staff, and anyone who does business with the court.”
