A 28-year-old man was arrested for unlawful possession of a loaded firearm at Monte Carlo Night Club on Aug. 21, police said.
The man, a resident of Reedley, California, tried to enter the club, located on the 200 block of Castro Street, with a loaded gun in his waistband around 1:30 a.m., according to police. Staff noticed the gun and contacted law enforcement officials. The man tried to walk away but was quickly detained by responding officers. A K9 found the gun close to where the man was standing, police said.
The man was arrested and booked into Santa Clara County jail.
This is the second firearm incident at the Monte Carlo Night club in the past month. A man accidentally discharged a gun, injuring himself and a woman, while dancing at the club on July 30.
