A motorcyclist is in critical condition with serious injuries after being involved in a road collision yesterday afternoon on Shoreline Boulevard in Mountain View, according to the Mountain View Police Department.
Dispatchers received a call around 1:53 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, reporting a collision at Shoreline Boulevard just north of Villa Street. When officers arrived, they found a motorcyclist lying unconscious in the roadway, according to the statement.
Officers immediately performed first aid until Mountain View Fire Department paramedics arrived. They continued treatment and transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital. The rider was in critical condition, police said.
The cause of the collision is not yet known, and drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor, according to police.
The roadway was closed northbound on Shoreline Boulevard, north of Villa Street, while local traffic officers collected evidence and interviewed potential witnesses. The last fatal vehicle collision in Mountain View occurred about a year ago on Dec. 4, 2023, after a pedestrian was struck in a Walmart parking lot.
