It may have once been known to many as “Menlo Dark” for its sleepy reputation, but the spotlight has been shining on the city of Menlo Park lately for its ever-growing culinary prowess. There have been several buzzy restaurant openings within city limits this year, including new eateries from the renowned chefs behind places like Cal-Indian hot spot Ettan and Maum, the former Michelin-starred restaurant in Palo Alto.
Haven Wine & Cheese joins the new Menlo Park restaurants lineup with its grand opening on Saturday. Its owners are two Menlo Park neighbors and moms who sought to open a wine bar that they’d want to go to. Haven will be home to a wide variety of tinned fish, cheese and wine, with plans to highlight female winemakers, smaller producers and winemakers of color. Swing by and toast this new business with complimentary bubbles and bites during their grand opening festivities.
And while you’re out and about this summer, don’t forget to pack a good book with the sunscreen and shades. Grace Lane from Linden Tree Books has recommendations for your summer reading list with books by local authors, including options for kids, teens and adults.
Happy summer solstice!
