Easter is nearly upon us, bringing egg hunts (of a different variety than the grocery store hunt for an elusive carton of eggs in 2025) and holiday brunch feasts to Silicon Valley.
Many cities and businesses have their own unique Easter traditions, like Campbell with its Easter Eggstravaganza (30,000 eggs!) and the Bunnies and Bonnets Easter Parade downtown, or the Easter Bunny arriving by helicopter at Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos. And you can count on local restaurants to offer luxe holiday meals featuring everything from lobster eggs Benedict to prime rib.
Whether you’re looking for an Easter restaurant reservation or an egg hunt for the kids (there’s even one for adults – bring your own baskets!), you’ll find all that and more in our guide to local Easter festivities.
Meanwhile, Adrienne Mitchel’s food feature this week focuses on the new Korean food hub Jagalchi in Daly City. Former Maum chef Michael Kim, who’s opening a new restaurant in Menlo Park with his wife Meichih Kim called Yeobo, Darling, met Adrienne at Jagalchi and highlighted his favorite finds. Check out her article to see what he picked out.
And Angela Swartz has the story behind a South San Francisco nonprofit that seeks to improve Pacific Islander representation in STEM careers by bringing science, technology, engineering and math activities to community events and hosting after-school programs and camps over school breaks. P.I.E.F.E.S.T., which stands for Pacific Islanders Encouraging Fun, Engineering, Science and Technology, also hosts the annual Bay Area Pasifika STEAM Fair, which is coming up this weekend in San Mateo. Find out more about the fair and the nonprofit in her profile.

Here’s what a highly acclaimed Korean chef would buy from Jagalchi, the Bay Area’s newest Korean food complex
I asked chef Michael Kim – previously of the former Michelin-starred Palo Alto restaurant Maum – to come with me to Jagalchi and give his opinions on how the new Korean food hub compares to nearby Korean supermarkets and stores in Korea, as well as what products he personally would pick up.

Congrats to Emily B. from Redwood City, who was the first reader to correctly identify where last week’s photo was taken (it’s “Three Circles,” a sculpture by artist Chul Hyun Ahn at The Ameswell Hotel in Mountain View!).

The first person to reply to this email with the correct place where the below photo was taken will win a prize from The Six Fifty and a shoutout in our next newsletter!
