There are a number of upsides to wet weather, even if they may have escaped you as you slogged through a(nother) slower-than-usual commute home amid the rain earlier this month or got caught in a sudden downpour.

One of them? All that rain turns the surrounding hills green, activates waterfalls and creates seasonal wetlands here in Silicon Valley, providing scenic backdrops for photo ops and outdoor excursions to shake off that residual cabin fever. With springlike weather in the forecast this weekend and the last pre-six o’clock sunset behind us until November, soak in the sights and sounds at the post-rain hot spots in our guide below before the inevitable return of April showers.
