Local residents who died recently include:
Judith “Judy” (nee Kahn) Sadoff, 96, of Palo Alto, who worked as a “computer” (ala Hidden Figures) at NASA, and who was an assistant to the nurse manager of a biomedical space research program, died on April 14, 2025.
Jacqueline Jean Schatz, 96, of Palo Alto, died due to complications from a fall on April 20, 2025.
Shirley Zimmerman, 89, of Palo Alto, who worked as a middle school teacher for 49 years and would arrive at Jordan Middle School at 6 a.m., and who was known as a stylish woman who had a taste for church music, who wore cashmere, sweaters and sunglasses, died on April 29, 2025.
Ida Pryor, 76, of Redwood City, of Redwood City, who enjoyed playing bingo and crocheting, died on April 12, 2025.
Shirley Whaley Nanevicz, 93, of Palo Alto, who tutored children with reading difficulties and was especially proud of her work with the children of local farmworkers, died on Feb. 18, 2025.
