Here are the local residents who died recently:
Esther Jean Florence Heslop, 93, an Atherton resident and native of Romford, England who was raised in British Honduras (now Belize), who was an avid gardener with her husband of 65 years Rosse, who volunteered as a “pink lady” at Stanford Hospital and who went sky diving at age 69, died on Aug. 6.
Richard Browne Kilner, 97, a longtime Palo Alto resident and Stanford University graduate who owned a small business representing the West Coast operations of East Coast trade magazines, who was a devoted Stanford football and basketball fan, and who was an avid surfer and accomplished bridge player, died on Aug. 1.
