Palo Alto wine bar Calave will close Saturday, Feb. 10.

Established June 29, 2015, by Lori Romero, Dave Villarreal, James Laden and Becky Laden at 299 California Ave., Calave offers local and global wines, craft cocktails, craft beers and a selection of bar bites. The last day of service is Saturday, Feb. 10, from 4-10 p.m.

In an email sent Feb. 5, the owners of Calave said “it was not an easy decision,” but that they’ll now “be shifting (their) focus to (their) families, friends and future endeavors.” The owners will be at Calave Friday from 4-10 p.m. “to say goodbye,” said the email.

All four owners have other day jobs in addition to running Calave. According to LinkedIn, Romero owns True Salon, also at 299 California Ave, Villarreal is a firefighter, EMT and HAZMAT specialist, James is a real estate agent and Becky works at a computer and network security company in Mountain View.

Correction: A previous version of the article had incorrectly stated that Calave’s last day of service is Friday, Feb. 9. This information was based off an email from Calave owners: “the ownership group has made the decision to close operations at Calave effective Saturday February 10th…Please join us on Friday 2/9 from 4 p.m. to close to say goodbye to your ‘corner pour’.” Mountain View Voice regrets the error.
