The Mountain View Senior Center will have limited services available next week because of construction impacting its parking lot.

Construction will limit available parking spaces at the senior center from Aug. 27 to Sept. 1, according to a recent city newsletter.

The senior nutrition program will temporarily relocate to the nearby Mountain View Community Center, 201 S. Rengstorff Ave., from Aug. 27 to Aug. 29. Operated by the nonprofit Community Services Agency, the senior nutrition program offers a hot lunch on weekdays to those 60 and up.

City spokesperson Lenka Wright said the quality of the meals will not change and will be similar to what participants experienced at the senior center.

The construction is related to a planned solar photovoltaic installation, Wright said in an email. Only the parking lot will be impacted by the work, not the senior center itself.

All other classes and programs at the senior center will be closed during construction, except for MVLA English as a Second Language classes. The drop-in rooms at the senior center also will remain open, including the technology, exercise and game rooms, the newsletter said.

More information about the senior center’s monthly meal schedule is available on the city website.
