Los Altos is 13-4 over its past 17 games. The CCS committee generally puts an emphasis on the final 15-20 matches. Ten of its 13 losses are to teams in first or second place in their respective leagues, or are in the WCAL, the CCS most competitive league.

Palo Alto (17-12, 7-4), which hosts Monta Vista Tuesday night, has also played a top-heavy schedule, which included the top four WCAL teams over a six-match span.

The Vikings can also point to wins over current undefeated league leaders Cardinal Newman and Bishop O’Dowd.

Mountain View (21-4, 8-3) has an opportunity to bolster its playoff resume. The Spartans host league champion Los Gatos (23-6, 11-0) on Tuesday. A Mountain View victory would mean sole possession of second place and an advantage at the seeding meeting.

Palo Alto, Mountain View and Los Altos have all been playing competitive schedules and all three split with each other.
