Castilleja, seeded seventh in the NorCal State Regional Division II tournament, beat visiting No. 10 Tracy 25-20, 25-18, 25-16 on Tuesday and will travel to play at No. 2 Redwood at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Claire Sun led Castilleja (28-4) with nine kills, 12 digs and three aces. She combined with Eveliena Pasmooij for 40 assists. Pasmooij added 14 digs, three blocks and four kills.
Hadley Nunn recorded eight kills, Ruby Flath had seven to go with six blocks and Jordan Amos-Grtosser had six kills, nine digs And a pair of blocks. Devin Nuckles added 16 digs.
Redwood topped Pleasant Valley 25-15, 25-18, 25-11 on Tuesday.
In another Division II contest, No. 11 Mountain View fell to No. 6 Archie Williams, 20-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-21. Archie Williams travels to play No. 3 Burlingame on Thursday.
In a Division III opener, No. 12 Menlo-Atherton lost at Soquel 25-16, 22-25, 25-17, 25-17. No 14 Monta Vista, which M-A (19-18) beat for the Central Coast Section Division I title on Saturday, knocked off No. 3 Windsor 20-25, 25-22, 25-13, 25-23.
M-A fell behind 16-3 in the first set before an Anna Ryan kill sparked a valiant comeback. The Bears fought to within 24-16 before falling.
There were four lead changes and five ties during the second set. M-A was down 15-13 before a 6-1 run gave the Bears a 19-16, helped by a pair of aces from Clara Cronin and kills from Aria Sokol and Summer Prescott.
Ryan recorded 12 kills to pace M-A.
In Division I, No. 12 Sacred Heart Prep, playing without Duke-bound Millie Muir, dropped a 25-13, 25-16, 25-21 decision to Monte Vista in Danville.
Sophomore Mia Radeff led the Gators (23-6) with 12 kills and nine digs. Isabelle Marco and Kellyn Zirn combined for another nine kills and 17 digs. Marco added 21 assists and two blocks.
Ellie Wheeler and Iris O’Connor combined for 15 digs, with O’Connor adding a pair of aces.
Kellyn Zirn, Tatum Baker, Catherine Jewitt and Sara Alnajjar pitched in with a combined 11 kills, 15 digs, and 2 blocks.
Open Division plays begins Wednesday night, with Menlo hosting Clovis West and Mitty hosting Branson at 6 p.m. St. Francis travels to play at Marin Catholic.
