On Wednesday, June 24, Peet’s Coffee and Tea will be serving up more than just your regular morning coffee.
The Mountain View location at 1032 Castro St. will be hosting staff members from the Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority (SVACA) for a community meet-and-greet event with some of the dogs currently up for adoption. In addition, Peet’s will be offering all drinks at half price. The event will run from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
The SVACA serves the communities of Mountain View, Campbell, Monte Sereno and Santa Clara. The staff available at the event will include an animal control officer from the field services team. The field services team is responsible for multiple animal care situations, including rescuing animals in distress and providing stray animals with emergency veterinary care.
The executive director of the SVACA, Dan Soszynski, will be in attendance, as well as shelter manager Michael Limper and field services manager Jessica Hearn. “We’re hoping to spread the word, not only about our adoptable pets, but also the other services we offer, like our spay and neuter clinic, our volunteer and foster opportunities and our field services,” Soszynski said.
The animal control officers will be available to chat and answer questions at the event. Attendees will also be able to check out one of the field services team’s rescue vehicles.
After the event, anyone interested in adopting a dog will need to come to the center to complete the formal adoption process.

An opportunity to meet and possibly adopt a dog, man’s best friend (after cats).
I think I’ll have to have my morning mtg offsite. Hmmm. Peet’s on Castro sounds like a good location. 🙂
A lovely idea, for those who don’t have to be at their desks at 8:45 on a Wednesday morning. Can we please have one of these events scheduled for an evening or weekend???
With all due respect, why should we care about what you think?
