The Mountain View Tech Showcase is returning to downtown next week, an annual event that features cutting-edge technologies and opportunities to hobnob with industry experts.
Now in its tenth year, the showcase is free to the public and will run for two days, July 16 and 17, with panel sessions and interactive displays from local companies.
Co-sponsored by the city of Mountain View and Mountain View Chamber of Commerce, the event kicks off at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, with a panel discussion entitled “The Future of Work: AI and the Workforce.” It will include industry professionals from LinkedIn, nSpire and the Krause Center for Innovation, according to a city press release.

“Panelists will explore how artificial intelligence and automation are reshaping industries and what it takes to build a future-ready workforce,” the release said.
The panel also will include information about how companies and educators can prepare for the future with a discussion about “upskilling strategies, productivity tools and the skills needed for an AI-driven economy,” the registration site said.
The following day, Thursday, July 17, companies will share interactive displays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the plaza outside City Hall, 500 Castro St. The public will have opportunities to view emergent technologies in the fields of robotics, virtual environments and autonomous tech as well as learn about job opportunities in these industries, according to the press release.
At 4 p.m., the showcase will wrap up with a panel session entitled, “The Growth of the Space Economy in the Bay Area,” featuring experts from NASA and Lockheed Martin Space.
“The discussion will highlight how aerospace innovation here locally is influencing everything from national research to daily life,” the release said.
While the Tech Showcase is free, registration is required for the panel sessions, which are being held at the Mountain View Center for Performing Arts.
